Cooking

This recipe is only for those who have the time and energy to maintain this on a daily basis. Changing your dog's diet frequently can make them sick. Only giving them soft food can compromise the quality of their teeth.

When we gave this diet to Charles-Clyde and Mavis, we also gave them a bowl of dry kibble in the morning to help clean their teeth. We also had their teeth professionally cleaned by the vet every few months as the buildup of tartar on dogs' teeth (as well as humans) can create serious health problems.

The recipe given below is more than enough for two full-grown boxers.
For one dog, you can either reduce the recipe, or make this much and store part of it in the refrigerator to reduce your pet cooking days. Be sure to leave the refrigerated food out to warm up for a while before serving.

Doggy Dinner Recipe
The beef in this recipe is fresh lean ground beef. We trimmed and ground our own beef, but you can also find lean ground beef at the store.
The heat of the vegetable-rice mixture is enought to finish cooking the raw ground beef when you add it.
If you can't get lean beef, fry it lightly and drain the fat before adding to the recipe.
